The Cradle Coast NRM Region is home to over 100 000 people who enjoy the benefits of its abundant natural resources and magnificent landscapes in the municipalities of King Island, West Coast, Circular Head, Waratah?Wynyard, Burnie, Central Coast, Devonport, Latrobe and Kentish. Our natural assets ? rivers and wetlands, coasts and mountains, forests and bushland, caves and mineral ores, air, soils and water, native fauna and cultural heritage ? all contribute to the unique character of this Region. The wilderness areas, unique plants and animals, remarkable coastline, rugged peaks and peaceful rural scenery help define us as a Region. The Region?s natural resources are the foundation of our industries, including agriculture, fisheries, forestry, mining and nature-based tourism, and give us clean water, fresh air and healthy lifestyles. The natural resources also have intrinsic and conservation values, which are recognised by the large areas protected in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area and many other State Reserves.
